With as many Star Trek references you hear on The Big Bang Theory, it would sound like a natural fit to have someone like William Shatner guest star. Sadly, it’s not something that’ll happen in the near future. Shatner admitted during a recent interview that he’s had conversations but in the end, he wasn’t happy with the script.
“I’ve had several conversations with the creators, and what they wanted me to do, didn’t seem to be exactly right, so I said ‘find something that’s better’. They may have taken umbrage at that, I’m not sure, he told Digital Spy.
Adding, “They wanted me to play myself a little obliquely, and they said it would work out, but I needed more assurance on that.”
Other members of the Star Trek universe have been more than happy to make guest appearances including Leonard Nemoy, Brent Spiner, Levar Burton, George Takei, and Wil Wheaton. So could the creators find a way to make it work with Shatner in the future? Stay tuned…
