Exclusive: Victor Rasuk dishes on his role in ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ (VIDEO)

The Internet almost broke this morning thanks to the worldwide debut of the first trailer for”Fifty Shades of Grey.” And everyone is still talking about it, including us.

The cast includes some new faces as well as some familiar ones, including one of our favorite Latino actors, Victor Rasuk, whom we recently saw in “Godzilla.”

Just a couple of months after he wrapped “Fifty Shades,” Victor sat down with Variety Latino to talk about “Godzilla,” and, of course, we asked for all sorts of juicy details about his role as Jose Rodriguez, a friend of Anastasia Steele’s (Dakota Johnson) who competes with Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan) for her heart (and body).

His biggest challenge? Getting out of the friend zone.

“In ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ I play the role of Jose Rodriguez, an aspiring photographer. He’s also studying with Anastasia, majoring in engineering. That’s how he meets Anastasia, in college. He falls in love with her; she doesn’t know that. His love for her is not passionate but like we say in Spanish, he has a cariño for her and that’s sort of how Jose is with Anastasia, but he doesn’t come out at her right away,” Victor dished.

At the time of the casting, Victor wasn’t really aware of the popularity of the books (unlike his aunt, who was REALLY EXCITED  for him) and once he got the part, he was left wondering if he’d have to get naked in the film…

This sexy Latino actor also told us that although he can relate with Jose on some levels, he has different ideas on how to win a woman’s heart.

“I think I differ from him in a sense that I’d be more honest, [I’d tell her] this is what I do and where I come from. I play more the honesty card and I think it has to do with self-confidence. Jose’s approach is about not knowing who you are yet or where you’re going in the world.”
